DAWSON CITY
We loved Dawson City! It was one of our favourite towns. It's an old gold mining town and lots of it has been left as it was. The roads in the town were dirt, there were lots of old signs, old cars/trucks, buildings of a lean etc. It was fun to walk around the town and check out the trading post and touristy gift shops. Apparently the town is usually packed with tourists but since the tourist season was pretty much over it was really quiet so we had it to ourselves! The local ice cream shop had a 'free ice cream day' as they were trying to get rid of it before they close for winter - genius!! They were some of the biggest ice creams we've ever seen! In the afternoon we relaxed in the sun reading books beside the river enjoying the sunshine and the luxury of a day not driving!
Checking out all the houses- they had board walks for there pathways which was pretty cool.
This old building was on such a lean!
Checking out more of the town
Reading our books in the sunshine!
The main street...
The ice-creams! We also had fish and chips one night - yum!!
You can only catch a ferry across to the top of the world highway!
Looking back on Dawson...
