Its Christmas break here so the Ripley's are up at the cabin with us which has been fun. I had 5 days off over Christmas but I had a tummy bug on Christmas day which wasn't much fun!!
Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to lately!

Perfect snowboarding conditions! :0)

Having cuddles with Shaun after boarding.

CHRISTMAS EVE!!!
They have a torch light parade and a bonfire every Christmas eve. Volunteers meet at the bottom of the hill catch the T-bar up together and then ski or board down together carrying lit up torches so all you can see is a cluster of red coming down the hill, it was really pretty!

They lined up with there torches and a groomer that was decorated with lights came through...

Santa and an Elf came out of the groomer...

Fireworks!!

APEX!
We are loving it up at Apex, we've settelled in and are both working. I'm doing ticket sales 3 days of the week and am on reception for 2 days; Reon is on snow making at the moment and is
working 7 days a week until the 23rd on December. Apex has 12 snow making machines so he gets to rip around on a sled moving them around the mountain and making sure the temperature
and water is right to make snow!
Here are a few photos of Apex...

Moving into the cabin...

Ice on the windows!

Our view looking out the front window - taken in the morning before work....
We had a really cold spell when we first moved up! -26 without the wind chill!! When Reon went to work it was -33C but he didn't get a photo of it...
Our little ski hill... I work in the building on the far left!
Me in the snow!

The saddle back lodge was a bed and breakfast that has been there for over 20 years and it burned to the ground the other day. The lady that was sleeping there woke up to smoke at 4am and her and her dog got out safely. The fire fighters worked on it from 4am until 2pm and then they gave up and just let it burn to the ground. It was -26C all day so the water coming out of there hoses was just turning into snow and they where all getting frost bite on there hands so it wasn`t pretty! Here are a few photos....
When the water hit the house it was freezing straight away!
They gave up and just let her burn!
This was taken looking at the back - the flames where huge!!
