A FEW PHOTOS...
We are picking up Wayne from the airport tonight and then heading up to Apex as I start work tomorrow! We don't have any internet up at the cabin so not sure when my next post will be...

This is where Reon worked for a few weeks. Digging a trench and laying pipe...

This photo was taken yesterday at 4pm and that's the moon! It's dark here by 4.30pm!!

It got down to -11C yesterday. This is Ed and Lillian's temperature gauge at -8C!

Reon reading books to Gerri and Karma...

Knitting by the fire! I thought I had better pick a hobby for the long evenings ahead - so I picked knitting! I'll be knitting my first scarf.

CHEVY!!
I've always wanted my own dog!! Well I have had one for the past few weeks and.... it was a love hate relationship! He's like the girl with the curl, when he's good he's really really good and when he's bad he's really really bad!
I do love your dog though Roxy!!! :-)

MINCE MEAT!!
Ed and Lillian have cows on their farm that they kill and butcher themselves. In a previous post you would have seen the cow hanging in the fridge, well the other night we made the whole thing into mince (or hamburger as they call it over here!)

Micheal and Reon cut the meat off the bone...

Lillian and Lara cut the meat up and Ed put it through the mincer!

The mincer!

I bagged the mince getting it ready for the freezer...

Haha, Lara and a meat fork!!

OUR HOME FOR THE WINTER - APEX!!!
So we drove up to Apex this week to put boxes over the skylights on the roof of the camper. Because they get so much snow up there the skylights would most probably break from the weight of the snow so Reon built some boxes to fit over the top of them. Seeing all the snow up there got us excited for the season! We can't wait!!!

The road up to Apex - its about a 45min drive from where Wayne and Roxy live..

Apex Mountain Resort Welcomes You!!

Home for the next 4 1/2 months!! Isn't it just the cutest cabin!!!

Anyone is welcome to come and visit us anytime ;-)

This is looking right down the road... you turn left where the buildings are that's where the town is! The mountain is just behind those far trees!

This is looking left down the road - This is the road that takes you down the mountain...

Fresh snow!! Can't wait to shred some pow!! :-)

Reon shoveling snow off the camper and putting the boxes over the skylights!

Reon through the window pane...

A cool old shed we stopped to take a look at on our way down the mountain!

MAITEE INDIAN BAND...
The other night I went with Lillian, Charlene, Jorden and Karma to a tribe gathering. Jorden and Karma are half brother and sister and there tribe is called the Maitee tribe and every so often they have a get together. It was kind of interesting, I thought there would be all really dark Indian ppl but there was lots of white people. Apparently in this tribe there is a lot of half Indian half french people so they are a lot whiter, where as Charlene's Indain band are pure Indian.
Anyways here are the pics...

There where heaps of people there!

A guy playing... it looks like a recorder?!

There was a table full of crafty things for the kids - Karma, Jorden, Charlene...

I made Karma a headband with feathers! Jorden and Karma both wore there indian band sash..

A couple played songs about there ancestors....

Haha I got a photo with an Indian!

The maitee tribe colours and history books...

BIKE RIDE + POOR SENSE OF DIRECTION + VERY UNFIT = FAIL!
Last week I thought I would go for a bike ride to see Reon at work. So I packed some lunch and gave him a call and made sure it wasn't to far away or to hilly, he said 20min and no hills so off I went. After biking for 45min and biking up and down hills I thought I must be going the wrong way seeing as I hadn't reached the road I was meant to turn down to get to him! I turned around and biked back the way I had come and stopped in to a house to ask for directions. A little old lady came to the door but she didn't know what I was talking about when I asked her if white horse street was near by. She told me that yes I could find white horses near by if I kept riding my bike!! I then asked her if there were any roads further up and she said that she never turned left out of her drive way and only went right so she had never been up that road before!!! So I got on my bike and biked home.... It turned out after talking to Reon that I was on the right road and just needed to keep biking!

Wouldn't you call this a hill?!?!

There are so many pretty orchards and vineyards around...

PURE APPLE JUICE!!
Lillian has given me her juicer for the winter so I took a sequence of photos of an apple from the tree to being made into juice...
