Beyond the land of the long white cloud...: September 2011

We've settled in nicely to Townsville, its a very laid back town which we love. It hasn't rained since we've been here and the temperature is just gorgeous!! Here's a few photos so you can picture where we are!

'The Strand' runs the length of the waterfront

The beach - there is nets out where you can swim year around. The jelly fish get really bad here from Nov - May so you can only swim in the nets during that time.

This is a man made lagoon at the end of the strand. The water is pumped in from the sea which is next to the rocks you can see at the right. Its quite big and will be awesome through jelly fish season.

The company put us up in accommodation for a month but we had to move around 3 times and carting all our stuff around was a bit of a pain!

The Ocean Breeze where we stayed for 2 weeks

Castle Hill - its one metre off of being a mountain!! Its very popular to climb/walk/run. You can see the hill from everywhere in Townsville.

I walked up the goat track to take a few photos! There is over 1000 stairs!!

The strand runs along the waterfront with town being to the right of this photo - The Island you can see in this photo is called Magnetic Is. and is about a 20min ferry ride from Townsville

Cam and Adriennes new house. I've been out helping Cam build a fence around the property for the last couple of days which has been fun and exhausting!
